What this shows: where the Coinbase app ranks in the US App Store (iPhone, free
apps) — its position on the
All-categories chart, the entire US App Store free-app
ranking, since February 2017. The lower the number, the more popular the app; rank 1
would be the most-downloaded free iPhone app in the country.
Global rank history: derived from TheBlock’s public “Crypto Apps Ranking” chart
image (data originally from AppTweak), digitized into a weekly series — each weekly point
is the rounded average of that week’s daily ranks. TheBlock stopped drawing Coinbase’s
global line on 12 Jul 2026, so the line ends there. Apple publishes only the top 200 of
the overall chart, and Coinbase currently sits outside it (around #490), so there is no
public daily number at the moment; the page checks Apple’s feed every day and daily
points resume automatically the moment Coinbase re-enters the top 200 (it was #5 at the
January 2021 peak).
Reading the chart: the y-axis is inverted (1 at the top — rank #1 is the most popular), so a line rising on
screen means an improving rank. Ranks are whole numbers — the axis never shows
fractions. Days where the app was outside the tracked chart are nulls (gaps), never
rank zero.
Finance category series: the blue line is Coinbase's rank within the
Finance category of the US App Store (free iPhone apps), fetched daily from
Apple's official RSS feed (genre 6015). Unlike the all-categories chart, Apple
publishes the full finance top 200, so this series has a point every day; it starts
on 3 Aug 2026.
App metrics: the stats strip also shows AppGoblin API estimates — monthly
installs and monthly active users.
