Insider buy ratio — open-market P$ / (P$ + S$)
ratio
Built from public SEC EDGAR Form 4 filings. This is an independent data visualization and is not investment advice. Insider transactions reported on Form 4 include routine, pre-arranged and tax-withholding trades; only open-market purchases (code P) and sales (code S) are counted here, but the signal is noisy and should be read alongside other data.
What this shows: the dollar-weighted ratio of open-market insider purchases to total open-market activity (purchases + sales) across a 97-company technology universe, aggregated by ISO week. Each week v = P$ / (P$ + S$), where P$ and S$ are the summed dollar values of every Form 4 transaction coded P (open-market purchase) and S (open-market sale). All other transaction codes (M, F, G, J, U, …) — option exercises, tax withholdings, gifts — are excluded. The green line marks the BUY ZONE at 0.05. Readings above the BUY ZONE mean insiders are net buyers on a dollar-weighted basis.
